This is my first time attending a Speed Dating event. How does it work?

1. Choose your event and sign up online using our secure shopping cart system.

2. Enter in your basic information for your profile. 

3. On the day of the event arrive ON TIME or early so we can be sure to register everyone and get started on time. 

4. Then we'll jump into the first round of five 5-minute dates.

5. After that there will be a 15 minute intermission to give everyone time to mingle with anyone you had an eye on during the evening. There will also be a 'People Bingo' icebreaker game that will help get things going.

6. Then we'll have the second round of five 5-minute dates. 

7. After which we'll hand out the prize to the winners of the People Bingo game and the structured part of the night will end and people will be free to mingle on their own.

8. Go home and sign in at www.TheLychee.com. Choose the individuals you would like to exchange your contact information with. (You have 48 hours to enter and/or edit this information). After the 2-day period, we will send you the contact information of any matches you may have had. (If you did not meet anyone you would like to see again, you are allowed to go to another event for free. But only if you do not enter any requests for matches. On the other hand, if you do enter individual(s) you are interested in seeing again, but you receive no matches, that does not grant you a free event.)

Do I need to register in advance to attend a Speed Dating event?

We do prefer you to register online beforehand since we cannot have an odd number of attendees of male and females. Everyone needs to be paired up to have a successful event. You can drop by at the beginning of an event and if we have an extra person of an opposite gender then we can add you in.

I need to cancel my Speed Dating registration. Can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, we do not provide refunds, only exchanges. Instead, we do provide credit for you to attend another event within 90 days.

Is there a dress code? 

There is no exact dress code per se, but please dress to impress. You can think of this as going on your first date (or 10 first dates!). Most people will be coming from work and people understand that. Professional, business casual is all acceptable. Just please do not be dressed for the beach or the trip-to-the-corner-bottega outfit, unless of course it is a beach outing!
